MIS — SFP-DD management
MIS, the SFP-DD Management Interface Specification, is published by the SFP-DD MSA for two-lane SFP-DD modules. CodingBox works with MIS 2.0.
Where it fits
SFP-DD doubles the SFP interface to two lanes for higher aggregate throughput while keeping an SFP-like footprint. MIS is its management interface over the two-wire (TWI) bus, defining how a host reads identity, diagnostics and controls from the module.
Relationship to CMIS
MIS follows the same modern approach as CMIS — a paged memory model with lower memory always accessible and paged upper memory — adapted to the two-lane SFP-DD form factor. If you know CMIS, MIS will feel familiar.
In CodingBox
For an SFP-DD module, CodingBox applies the MIS layout so its identity and per-lane diagnostics decode correctly, and it resolves coded fields through the SFF-8024 tables — the same way it handles other managed modules.
