CodingBox Documentation

What is CodingBox

CodingBox is a universal toolkit for reading, diagnosing and coding optical transceivers (SFP, SFP+, QSFP and other form factors) in one place. It combines a browser application, a hardware driver and programmer boards, backed by a database of firmware and vendor passwords.

The three parts

CodingBox is made of three pieces that work together:

  • Online application — runs in your browser. Reads module memory, shows Digital

Diagnostic Monitoring (DDM), lets you edit EEPROM pages and look up codes.

  • Driver — a small program on your computer that connects the web application to

a programmer board over USB. Without it the app runs in simulator mode.

  • Programmer — the board that physically holds the transceiver and talks to its

memory.

New here? You can try the interface right now in the live demo — it opens in simulator mode, no hardware required.

What you can do

TaskWhere
Check a module and read DDMOnline app → Check transceiver
Edit EEPROM pagesOnline app → Editor
Look up firmware and passwordsOnline app → Database
Write a physical moduleApp + driver + programmer

Next steps

  1. Install the driver to connect real hardware.
  2. Learn how to check a transceiver.
